You're still "rolling it in glitter"....the box syncro's don't like to be rushed, and the 02A mechanism is complete pants too. You'd be much better of buying a CAE shifter or something.

I'm all for getting rid of the slop and rubber bushes actually, it's just anything with a short shift, just doesn't work on an 02A, the box doesn't like it.

Also look at your engine mounts, you'd be amazed at how much engine movement affects gear shifting.

    Righty a couple of pics.
As I said though, my first lever was wrong due to the lack of adjustment, where as this now has an 8m stainless allen head one end to allow the pin to rotate, and I added a stainless nyloc on the other end to hold things tight( although it's not really needed as I've retained the flats on the end of the pin, which buts up against the lever) but it can be altered to take up any slack if required.
Just to add, the nyloc on the lower pin doesn't need to be undone to adjust the lever, only the allen head bolt as to make things a little easier.

The main plate is stainless, and the pins are ground EN19 bright bar.
The arm has 2 threaded holes to allow you to use either a short throw or std. throw. To use the std throw an 8mm allen head bolt will be needed to go underneath the pin to hold the to plates together.
The top pin for the cable has a 3mm hole in the larger diameter to put an allenkey through to hold it when tightening.
    So here it is:

I'm in 2 minds wether to drill the 6mm pin for the cable to put an R clip in, or to cut a groove to put a C clip in. Probably depend on what I have to hand.

As for the crappy plastic block. Having looked at the slightly different style of tower(the one that can't use the weighted lever) the plastc is replaced with a square block. After having a good look I may have an idea of what to fit in there, that will take up all slack/slop, plus give a crisp, smooth action. I'll have to have a play first. If that fails though, it's easy to replace the plastic block with a similar alloy block. But I'll be looking into it :)

    Nice work there Mart...
    Good effort!

A hole will be easier...a washer + R clip or split pin that way - which most people will probably habe to hand.
I always loose small C clips. Probably my sausage fingers at fault there.

    Interesting...

Keep us updated. And put me down for one when complete
