We have booked our next track day on the 17th at brands again this time for a full day, total of 6 cars as a group which is good as we can go out in each other's cars and see what there driving is like and give tips each way, 1 s3, 1 seat Leon cupra R, 1 Audi TT and 3 fiestas, the fiestas are quite good round the track but I do think they lack a bit of top end power

The Audi had developed a creaking/knocking on the front n/s but could not find anything untoward, the white Audi was duly stripped of its front arms (which are polybushed) and shocks hubs driveshafts so although we haven't found the the issue It is now noise free, but I will put new bearings in the hubs which then makes for an easy swap at the circuit if we have an issue.

We are still getting some slight understeer so should I add half a degree of camber to the front or not?

Car has been for alignment and we now have -1.5 deg camber as tyres were wearing on the outside lets see how it drives next week but felt good on the drive home

We made it to brands on the day and had a great day with only one problem which was the boost hose kept blowing off from crossover pipe above the exhaust manifold due to heat that has deteriorated the hose itself, A new silicon hose has been purchased and fitted so the car is ready for the next track day

A set of team dynamic 1.2s with Dunlop slicks have been purchased also so will give those a try

I'll do a better update later

In the meantime we have found another s3 that has been racing in the VAG Trophy and is up for sale so this is being sold on to purchase that in the next few weeks

New car has been converted to FWD and has gripper diff etc more to follow

My friend has also just bought an A3 as his fiesta can't keep up which I'll keep you posted on

Went and viewed the S3 today and found that left rear corner has to much toe in possibly due to the accident! and hasnt been rectified by the workshop which I was a bit annoyed about to say the least!

I left without leaving a deposit as had to make some calls as it needs to go on a jig to be sorted, although we do have the spare white shell (this was always in my mind) if anything went wrong with the yellow S3.

I spoke to a guy who pulls a few cars for me and he said it should be doable I called the guy back and we had a deal, inc new set of wets and another set of inters on team dynamics 1.2s and drivers seat also inc as I didnt think it was coming with one, spare bumper and some other bits n pieces

What Ive thought is worse ways we have a quick S3 which basically needs some bodywork doing, if the shell turns out to be that bad we can just swap everything over to the white car

    Spec is
    247 bhp 287ft/ib torque
Rebuilt box with Gripper diff (new this year) with 2k of receipts
    Bag tank in boot
    Full FIA Cage
    Lightweight doors, tailgate, bonnet
    Perspex windows
    Plumbed in extinguisher
    BC coilovers

Picked the car up last night and it definitely needs some sorting which we have done a bit today

Had a large type battery in passenger side which was removed today and replaced with a much smaller odyssey battery and at the same time moved the fire extinguisher so we can get a passenger seat in

Going over the car it has all the right bits but the shell in my opinion is past its best now and future plans will be to build another shell copying all the mountings etc and modifying if needed to make things neater, then swap all the parts across which tbh wont be a lot lol

Looking at the loom I think Ill make a bespoke one from scratch

    Pics to follow

I took the Audi up the road for a quick tester and it has much much more torque and pulls like a train compared to the yellow one
Actually had trouble getting the power down even in fourth gear but the road was a little damp

Looking forward to next Thursday even more now!
