setting up mk1 golf

    yep patience is key, can find complete donors 200-400 to give you an idea!

    tracking set for mot/nct,found out lhs calliper sticking :( had to stick on spare i had.can't get piston out the sticking calliper:o rebuilt them with new seals but could see rust marks under seal

    car passed nct/mot[:D] but on way to test the car started to misfire no 4 spark plug is black

    oh dear :lol:

    probably an easy fix though. usual checks clean plug up and try again, check leads etc

    Few things checked

    Compression.15.5 on all cylinders
    New leads&plugs
    Checked timings marks& idle timing all ok
    Took out injectors and no4 spray pattern was looking bad so stuck in spare one I had
    The car idles better and no misfire.Still need to go for spin in it yet.will the brass merc injectors sold on eBay suit this engine as they don’t have the hats on them

    the merc injectors are coarse thread so will fit if you have the coarse thread fuel lines, as you say they dont have top hats so you have to cap off the vacuum connection for the air shrouded system. You might be able to swap some top hats over to the merc injectors just make sure they are well secured.

    you might be able to get the right injectors for around the same price these days though, the prices of the merc stuff has gone right up since we discovered them and pushed up demand :lol:
