how l.ong are your legs Gilly?
you trial fitted your seat yet to confirm brkt positions etc.

I'm going to have to rmeove my ibiza OE runners as the sills cracked and split on the drivers side which is a bit scarey. Plate is seriously thin and flimsy on the sill

    If it`s any help, here`s my Mk1 ... I`m ~ 5`10" with inside leg ~ 31".

The position is actually too high, could do with being an inch or two lower.

Spot weld cutter is the best, neatest way. Little bit of angle grinder for the front sections which are mig'd on. Finish of by removing stubs with the belt sander.

Wipe with thinners usually reveals the dimples in the metalwork from the spot welds.

Centre punch, and on with the spot weld cutter.

the clue is in the name INOX. aka stainless steel aka 1.5 times stronger than pig iron!

Has anyone seen the new tubular seat mounting kit in the 2008 Demon-Tweeks catalogue? Page 158, 40.

"Contains 2 x 560mm long, 25mm OD CDS tubes, 4 mounting brackets with floating M8 nuts and 4 side strengthening plates."
