    Mate of mine has a mk4 gti 20v t
    Engine code AUM
He bought it as a none runner with no idea what’s wrong with it. Anyway I connected my laptop and it found a fair amount of faults but it keeps telling me the ecu is unavailable and can’t connect etc. First reaction was that the ecu is knackered so got a fresh full set up.. clocks, ignition, immo ring, convenience module, and ecu, swapped em all and still won’t start and vcds still ain’t finding the ecu.
Can anyone help or should I post this in the tech section ?
    Cheers

Sounds like the ECU is not being powered up!

Did you check the basics like fuses etc, before lobbing all those bits at it?

    Does it crank?
