Well they were toying with the idea of putting a vr6 in a mk2 so I think so?

the vr6 clutch will fit the cable change box, but not if your using a rod box.

keith ist's the bigger ABF sized flywheel you need, i have one somewhere, and AGC box is cable change and has 2y ratios in it

So it`s a new `box complete, cable change conversion and ABF flywheel then. May wait a while `til I`ve destroyed the dif rivets or burnt the clutch out!

After saying that I`m in the look-out for a 9a to fettle over the winter so it`d make sense to do the lump and box together, will have to see how the money side pans out!

What sort of horsepower are you intending Keith? A touch over 200 and the rod box and clutch will be fine, just sort the diff rivets outs

Looking at 200 at the wheels hopefully, maybe more later ;). I know the rivets will bite the dust, just worried about the clutch with the increase in torque?

Research a little more into uprated clutchs and what torque and horsepower they are rated to. If you are aiming for 200 at the wheels then maybe it would be wise to go to cable box. I think I have an insight into what you are up to, I know the man sorting your ECU :)

If you go the cable route, make sure that you choose the right version with regards to ratios for your given engine and power delivery

Ah G60 box is a good idea, what sort of power can a G60 box/clutch take then? or will the mk3 16v box/clutch be stronger?

Had the chance of buying a brand new G60 paddle clutch for much cheapness last year, wish I`d bought it now [8(].

Cheers for the help lads, have a look under Trev16v`s post in the Supercharged section for what me an him are up to [:D]

All the O2A's are rated to the same spec, the difference in the box's are related to final drives and also the individual gear ratios. G60 boxes are really long, 160 mph top, a MK3 16v is lower because the FD is lower.

I dont know much about FI engines in relation to the gear ratios that are suitable so can only suggest that you ask around and do some research

What car had the AGC??? It sounds like it could be a good swap for the lame 02A if it has 2Y gears

The AGC is a ok swap for the 2y , it loads stronger but only 1,2,3 gears are the same , 4th and 5th are different. Not sure on how final drive figures effect all the gears tho.
But in my 16v old setup 4K in 5th was at 80mph
with the AGC its close to 88 mph

I run that box in my car and it nice to know the thing is not going to expire like the timebomb 020 boxes (without mods)

What i like about the 02A is that you can run a Mk4 Shifter on it which i reckon looks wicked and feels loads better

I think it ought to be mentioned with passat 16v boxes that they had different ones in there with the 2L and 1.8 verisons
