I have got a coolant leak, started off very small, but since it got bigger there is also a knock noise coming from engine. My question is if it is bearing gone on pump would allow water to leak? Thanks Joe
On my 8v the bearing is beginning to get noisy, but its not a knock noise, more a squawk like sound. Pumps are the same for both models
On further investigation, using the screwdriver on ear method on alternator it is definitely a knock. Mine has factory aircon, and I discovered two mounting bolts missing from compressor and also cast iron mount bracket for it and alternator that bolts to it was loose. So will sort those bits out and see if any improvement. I now think the leak is corrosion on the pump outlet to top hose. (I found same thing on daughters Corsa). I just hope it is not inside engine(I do drive it like I stole it most days)
