When I was about 10 I loved the MK2 Astra GTE, thought it was the best looking thing on 4 wheels! Guess hot hatchery was in the blood. I would consider myself a fairly serious petrol head, most days when out and about I'll see something interesting and get a little excited about it. Then insist on telling whoever is in the car with me all about it! Mostly my poor fiance who must be fed up to the back teeth with it! (yes, I do have a girlfriend... surprise!) The Veyron, for being pure engineering excellence The 911, for still producing classic cars to this day, and perfecting a flawed design The Austin Healey 3000 for being beautiful. The Lancia Delta HF for being awesome and ugly and pretty at the same time! The mazda MX5 for affordable classic fun... My car for putting a right big old smile across my face before I've even turned the key! Feeling happy just thinking about it parked outside.... I'm off for a drive!!
Sorry fella's/gals for inspiration its gotta be an american V8.. I grew up near a Drag strip and used yo get in for free as a local.. V8's ALL the way... but I do like the old VW beetles and camper vans... Ive just got my first VW and its pretty cool enjoying it loads, except the fuel bill
I have to admit there was not one car that made me want a VW, it just happened to be my first car. I originally wanted a Nova SR! When I was 16-17 Max Power had just started up so it was till kinda cool and to that I would say Anders Mk2 Golf Turbo was the first modified car that I really took notice off when it was featured. As far as I remember it was an 8v turbo using some Volvo parts. Full cage and stripped out interior was very cool at the time. Wheels just set it all off. Funnily enough my first Gti was silver and its still my favourite Mk2 colour to this day, probably because of this car.
The reeves mk1 golf has always done it for me + dales orange 20v mk1 racer. Both cars are just amazing, inspiring builds, quaility motors built to be driven hard . They both look stunning and at the same time they are bonkers mad track weapons. 1.Reeves mk1 golf the ultimate mk1 racer and my all time dream car. 2.Dales orange 20v track mk1. There are others on here infact all the mk1 based/track inspired cars give me inspiration. James
loved the boxiness then drove one and realised i couldnt live with LHD on a daily basis..hence the mk1 golf
Funkbarons ( soon to be dismantled [:^(] ) mk2 vr6, a timeless classy look without going over the top which can be a daily driver if wanted. And gvks mk2 vr6, which makes you realise that they need not go and handle like a sack of ****.
and JD engineerings mk1 g60 with the clipper kit, especially when it threw it's pulley straight through the grill at the sprint at GTI international
this done it for me whipping some fast cars shame about the looks but fu*king quick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obGSWYJ3jio
For me it was the Orange Grant Motorsport MK1 (shame it was not around for long!) and the Reeves MK1 along with many of the Track MK1's in the members section, Chris's, Gurds, Infinity's ........................................... Yeh i have a soft spot for track MK1's!
Mine? It's mint green I can't find the video at the moment but the Blue German MK2 VR6. There is a great vido of it on YouTube somewhere. The one where the guy looks like jonny Knoxville.
the mad 20v mk1 use d to see this at combe at most track days its the combo of a subtle mk1 with the serious 20v engine in bonnet. currently off the road but due back on soon . although before that any hotrod as used to read street machine in the early 90s .
My Dads Renault 6, I passed my driving test in it. That particular car starred in Life without George. I did some research not many left in the Uk anymore. I Realised vw were better and have had polos and now a golf.
