    Hi all I have a 85 GTX and a 91 GT2

I plan on beefing up the power in the GT2

But which engine conversion should I go for and why?

    ABF
    20VT
    BAM
    2.3 V5
    VR6

    ??????

    My initial thoughts were 20vt

    cheers

Which one requires the least amount of work, i.e. I'm able to use the existing scirocco mounts

Aside from all the engine/gearbox/mounts/exhaust shennanigans you'll have to fit some form of fuel injection system - it might be that the GTX is the better option.

ABF - 16v - Good all rounder. Way faster than a stock car.

20VT = EA827 engines or EA113 engines. Very well supported in the VW/Audi community.

EA827, North/South ADR, AEB, APU. No custom engine mounts needed.
EA113 = Low power 9.5 CR AGU, AYP, AUM, AUQ, AJQ.
EA113 = High power, 9.0 CR APX, APY, AUL, AMK, BAM, BFV.

EA113 needs custom engine mounts from Eyptec etc.
Of course there is more to it regarding engine controls etc as some are M3.2, M3.8.2/3, ME7.5 Narrowband ME7.5 LSU4.2/LSH sensor.

2.3 VR5 comes in either 10v or 20v flavours. Not as well supported as above but also doable like a VR6 conversion minus a cylinder. Very interesting noise these make when on full chat.

VR6 12v - Has been done with custom mounts or custom mounts and driveshafts.

    Your call.

My plan was to fit the fuel pump system from whatever donor car I have to the Rocco fuel tank

Regarding fuel pump get yourself a Bosch 044 and 60mm type in line filter with a mounting bracket and mount under the car near fuel pump

    Simple and it works

It's a GT2 - the only way out for fuel is the top of the tank ;)
