Apologies in advance for the noob question but I need vag com to get my car up and running, I had it years ago when my car was unreliable but since having a bout of reliable ones it got lost somewhere! But found the original cable that worked!
So I have another old laptop but there's so many options on which one to download for Windows vista! I have a 2001 ibiza cupra and a 2016 caddy so would like to have access to both with 1 vag com if possible.
Again apologies I'm not good with computers/tech haha

You cant beat getting the real thing, it updates all the time. i have this one https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCV23.html on a Windows 10 lap top.

If you want to do early mk4 platform non- can cars, you can use VCDS lite for 'dumb' interfaces - then get it registered with ross-tech, if you dont register it you only limited to the early measuring blocks and cant log 115 boost pressure.
