    At last av almost got me mk2 gti 8v back on the road. It snapped a plug in the head so heads been drilled and heli coiled,Skimmed, timing kit changed, All gaskets changed All engine wires tidied up connectors cleaned throughout engine all i need to do tonight is cam pulley and timing. Touch wood it'll be started tonight with full service done including Fuel filter,, Wish me look

    I had exactly the same thing happen to me on my 1.3, just after I changed the head gasket. Unfortunately I cracked the head trying to remove the broken plug, so I've just bought another car to steal bits from:lol: Good luck

    Damn it

    Right av just done head + Gaskets + Exhaust gaskets Timing belt & Pulley, Fitted it al up it started last night ran, got me home (10miles) Went to start it this morning, Turns but wont fire up, Last night it was very Flat/slow, Its a Mk2 GTI 1.8 8v PB engine, Can **** give me some helpfull hints to solve the problem Please...

    How long has it been sat for, have you go fuel ??????

    2 weeks, Yeah its got fuel. Done all usual checks, checked for spark etc
