My first car I owned was an A reg Mk1 1.1 golf. Spent time adding Gti brakes, glass, interior etc etc etc and some lancia HF integrale wheels and then Blew the engine up on it.

Thought the only sensible option was to VR6 it. Had mk3 VR subframe almost fitted after doing all the necessary chassis mods......and a Golf Rallye shell became available cheap (like 500 or something) and it made space for the rallye. (which also didn't get finished and is now being built/owned by Rigs)

Not privately owned a car with an engine less than 2.8litres since then, untill may this year when I got a 2litre diesel mk5. Some 11+ years later.

My first car at the age of 17 was a mk1 1600 gti with the 5 speed box, back in 96' YWD 57X never forget the reg.

Bought off a mates brother who was into VW's. Had a Kent cam and k&N air filter with spax lowering springs and boge dampers. I fitted a scorpion DTM exhaust and some fast road pads and low profile tyres on the standard 13 wheels. Was a legend locally and was rapid, beat all the escorts at the time and pushed a few RS Tubos. I crashed it twice in 2 yeras and my father helped me rebuild it until I had a big accident on some county roads and ended up in a field. By then my all my funds from my part time job were spent and ended up Selling it in bits. A sad day but fantastic memories.

Renault 19 1.4 RTe in black. Was awesome, if a bit oversteer-y... [:s]

Only lasted for about 10 months until I traded it in for a red Honda Civic. V-Tec, yo!

I can't remember the reg, but it was a 1.2 Nova in 1999. 1 month after passing my test i hit a Peugeot 206. Repaired, driven around in for 6 months or so, then I got a Mk1 1600 GTI.

My first car was a 1993 Pug 106 1litre in 2007. Bought for 200 and sold for 400 7months later. Had 4 "on the floor" and shook like billy-O at 82mph lol. Ended up converting it from 3stud to 4stub in my short ownership. Got rid due to the need for more go.

Next up was a 2001 Vaux Astra "G" 1.4LS. Lasted 5months and chopped it in due to boredom.
Then came a 2005 Honda Civic EP2 1.6 Sport. Great car and prob the most fun handling car i have owned(haven't driven my Mk2 yet) Lasted 2 years and then chopped it in.
Next was my 2006 Audi A3 2.0tfsi quattro S-line which I currently still own, for now lol

I miss my 106, had fun rallying down the lanes in it and it learnt me all about lift-off oversteer :)

    You learn something everyday.

I remember the car, a mate had one years ago, quite comfy & good equipment levels for the time, not the most exiting car ever made though

Mk2 Golf 1.6, was a total heap, burnt oil, engine was knackered. My dad bought it for me as a Christmas present so I didn't get a French car!

Put Richard's old 1.8 carb engine in with a GTi cam and it was wicked fun then an X5 rear ended me after he locked up in the ice. Broke it for spares and bought a GTi.

C944DMK - Mk2 Fiesta XR2 in red, with pepperpots . Made a great noise, even at tickover.

Fond memories of hooning it around country lanes. Ah those were the days.....
