Was on the MOT ramp at work sorting out my angel eye headlights. Sorted them out - reversed my car off and didnt realise my front spoiler had got caught on the jack - next thing I knew it was lying on the floor [:^(]

    Hi Guys,

I've been scouring this site for some time now and picked up a few pointers. I'm new to all this car business and actually never EVER thought of messing around with a car. but, i got my first golf a while ago after my old flat mate, john from Kent VW, kinda talked me into it, and here it is. i only changed a couple of bits at the mo, but i got some 17's to whack on it (when i can afford the tyres [:^(] ) and also gonna get a couple of inches taken of the height. when the summer comes so i can paint, i'm gonna fill and smooth out the bumpers ti get rid of all the grooves. something else i just thought of while looking at the pics is what do you think about smooting off the arch trims and color coded? does it look a bit [xx(] ? you may not like it, but it's all mine. :p

any tips are appreciated, as i'm just getting in to it.

    Thanks Guys/Girls,

    Mark

its a lot of work to remove the arch trims...only really worth it if you're gettin a full respray. can i sugest 'autoglym vinal and rubber care' for the time being tho.

gotta say i'm not a fan of the grill...but thats personal taste.

looks tidy tho, perfect base to make something special. what engine is it?
