has anyone got any pictures of abf inlet manifolds with the part number ending in bg and bh please until i post some as and when my later type turns up Gregg
heres a late MK3 one, I have a late SEAT one in my garage if you want better pics. basically the main difference is the vac pipe at the back for the ECU, early ones didnt have that. also IIRC the shape of it is slightly different around the throttle body area?
Here's an early type: Note that the taper from the TB along the rear of the plenum is sharper than a late model. EDIT: I think there is also more a more generous inlet radius into the individual cyliner runners on a late manifold. Yep seems so; I just dragged these out:
no not at all, your pic wasnt showing for me so i fiddled with the address till it did and posted it back up
Cheers guys, just to let everyone know, the early type manifold creates bonnet clearance issue on a mk2
I've got a late manifold available, With isv. and all associated bracing brackets to bolt onto the back of the head
Here's the differences the top manifold is the later type in the above pic, as you can see, the runners are somoother to the plenum and the throttle body mounting plate has been twisted anti-clock slightly... The plenum chamber entrance angle finishes on the start of the H of the DOHC-16V on the early but the later one (shown at the bottm on this pic) finishes at the 6..... The later type (bottom on this pic) has a shorter plenum and the rear mounting hole closest to the throttle body is in further than the ealry type meaning a later type exhaust heat shield to inlet manifold support bracket will be needed. There are also two additional vacuum take offs on the later type meaning they'll need to be blocked off if fitting to an early typr engine
