I've done it finally. Just ordered an ECU, some injectors and throttle position sensor for the mkII.

Its still expensive but the engine will finally run to its full potential. Seems ridiculous, having spent a lot of money on cams, head etc not to spend this extra bit to get it producing what it should.

200bhp ere we come! Can't wait for Brands in Feb.

Going to use the Emerald. Getting the injectors from the US. The ones I'm getting are Bosch. Slightly bigger than the ones in the MkIII 2.0 16V. They flow enough fuel for 220bhp at 80% duty. Should be fine. Not expecting to get much over 200 brake.

Managed to find the stuff I need for 175 + deklivery. Think I should be paying less. Anyone got any of these bits:

    Mk3 2.016V

Inlet manifold - upper and lower]

    Throttle Body

    Air box

    Fuel Rail

Injectors (only really need 1 of them)

Ju sent me a pm on another forum about this, you have to be careful which ABF manifold you use on a mk2 as some don't fit.

He mentioned that. Not having much luck. Just phoned about 30 breakers yards. Nothing!

Anyone know of any VW specialist breakers?

Did you contact ChrisP as I suggested?

Turns out that 175 includes a set of injectors and is all of a sudden looking more attractive. I may try ChrisP though anyway.

You won't believe this. Golf just passed an MOT emissions test! I'm gobsmacked. Had to lean it off and advance the timing but not by too much.
