Certainly seams that way. I think you can get a slightly bigger inlet onto the standard valve seat (40.5 against 40.0mm) but its a lot of work for the gain. yr going to need to go up about 1.5 mm for a worthwhile increase. Who done the head originally ?

BBR (GTI engineering ) did the head and valve work...

i cant do the 'LINK' to the NOS kit that i am after , but if you type in 'wizards of nos' on e-bay,there is a used kit on there with direct port injection and a progressive controller.

what a mission to get theses parts !!!

dealer wants 63 for 8v friction disc and 72 for 16v pressure plate.

looks like a Black Diamond job then ? or a 300 group a clutch ???[:^(]

Pretty sure theres something up with mine.
Got rebuilt tall block, big valve head (tsr), flowed manifolds, etc, etc.
Only managed 140@5400 and 144@4800 at stealth. Got my suspicions about the cam but not going to point fingers at persons who aren't around to defend themselves anymore.

With TSR no longer around, where else can you get hold of the blanking plate for the breather? I have seen pics of the 2E blocks with the breather on and it seems that if you take the breather off the block, you will be left with 2 holes, the other being in line with No.2 piston on the block, can this simply be plugged with a core plu or is there another trick to this?

Also, the larger exhaust valves (35mm?), are they standard from any other vehicles in the VAG range? (just to make it easier to try and purchase the correct parts...)

As for clutches, I'm running a 2.1 16v on 45 webers, which with the cam timing WAY off pushed out 174bhp and 166lbs/ft on a standard 1.8l 8v second hand clutch.
I've been running it now for a week with the timing reset and the difference in power is exceptional, and still the standard clutch is holding out.
I know clutches fail, but are people doing 7k standing starts with them to kill them so quick??
