My 2006 mk5 GTI has reversing sensor. it’s a DSG, so once slotted into reverse the sensor beeps once to show it’s working then beeps as you’d expect when you get near things. or that’s what it used to do…. intermittently now, when putting in reverse it gives a constant beep, and it’s a louder and deeper sound than the normal beep. It’s obviously distracting and very annoying. any ideas? I’ve checked the bumper and sensors are clean. sometimes you can take it out of gear and try reverse again and it clears. Sometimes not working at all then, or sometimes normal. Just not sure where to start, switch on the gearbox or selector, sensors in the bumper, general wiring etc???? if all else fails, how can I just disable them? TIA
If factory sensors you can get the fault codes read on VCDS. The long beep is to let you know there is a fault.
Thanks and Yes, factory installed. Mi have a code reader. I’ll plug it in and see what I get. It’s not full VCDS though so might not be lucky.
I think the control box and buzzer are located in the offside c pillar, was in my Ed30. May just want unplugging and a rest, and it will be quiet. Atleast then, depending what vcds says, all is accessible
