Yeah I think a drop will be on the cards, but not at the moment as im a bit tight on funds! The red strip is just a 3mm pin stripe from Halfords (1.60 or something) and the pedals I got off eBay, "Audi TT Pedals" and were 20.

    That looks very nice.

I wouldn't worry too much about lowering it - it doesn't look so bad on a black car. I had 17" RX's on a red MK3 and that never quite looked low enough but I didn't get round to lowering it because my wife used to drive it more than me and wasn't keen the idea!

Lovely looking car, but imo def needs lowering, it just looks a bit, um, odd at that height.

    Cheers for the comments!

liquidgringo - You're right, it does look different on a red car!

Bundles - cheers. Im not too bothered at the moment...gona give the wallet a little break. But when i do come to lower it i won't go any lower than 35mm.

Who runs 17s with this drop? I still need the car to be practical and dont want rubbing when people in the back! The wheels are et35 so that should help matters.

Well if it helps, My golf was running 15's with 205/50 x 15 tyres and it was dropped over 100mm at the back when i first got it (about 10mm off the non existant bump stops) and it only rubbed while cornering hard due to knackered back beam bushes. It was fine on a streight road, even a bumpy one (other than the suspension bottoming out and hurting your spine!) The back arches on Mk3's seem to be much bigger than they appear tbh.

Not normally a fan of BBSs, but they look sweet.

I think I just dislike cross-spoke BBSs tbh.

    Cheers gareth!

Yeah I think I will lose the mudflaps, since one is missing!

Any other ideas for styling? Next on the cards is suspension and exhaust, but also thinking about some new lights at the front.

Mate the car looks well sweet - I love those rims they are exactly what I want to put on mine. thought I would add mine as I have not posted it for a while...

I have got to start spending some money on it again - some proper suspension might be the first thing again. It is not as low as it is in the pic anymore as the setup was crap (Streetline kit) so it is back on standard springs... make sure if you do lower it that you do it properly, its not worth doing on the cheep

Cheers! Your car looks very tidy!

I had been thinking of a Spax VSX (i think...the cheaper one?) kit....cos i didnt realy want to spend a fortune on it. I had a Pi kit on my old car which i paid like 200 for and it did the job. I dont really thrash it through corners etc so im not in need of really high performance suspension.

Few more pics, nothing has really changed apart from ICE install and i have removed the one remaining front mudflap, and will remove the rears the next time the wheels are off the car.

For now that's it, because i've ran out of money

May well get round to lowering it but probably won't be for a few months yet as i'm not desperate to do it.

A very straight, solid looking car and i Love the seats. Lowering it would make it look LOADS better though imo.
