used to have schrick 260's on the 1.8 now running the two exahust cams because running in on schricks would have been a real pain, and wanted to see what the engine was like with std cams - get a better idea of the shape of the curve - then see what i do to tailor it
Looking good, With just a little more playng over the next couple months, it should tip 200BHP, with the torque of a con-man
looking good mcFly. i think the misconception about under sqaure engines not being able to rev is just because of the higher rod speed and angle. it will take more stick than a short stroke engine, no debate, more mass flailing about. alsong as everything is strong its fine. i didnt realise the 16v engine had chain driven exhaust cam, learn something new every day. must be a very shallow included valve angle.
not looking for over 200bhp - because i won't be running mad cams/ high revs to get it what i want it a decent torque figure - with a flat top on it, so i can stay on decent torque all the way through a gear, not just rise onto it, then fall off it like most high revving engines will do
Lol, sold this engine 'cos I bought a mk3.....now I'm back to a mk2 16v, running 325mm porsche set up front and 300's on the back, but I've sold the 'GO' to dex........ Looks like there'll be another 2042cc on the cards! Don't like the colour of that block though mate...did you paint it that lairy colour??
