    Hi folks
I am replacing the dash speakers on my 85 gti but the connections on my loom and the new speakers are different. Any tips how I can adapt the fittings to suit?

Make an adapter loom with male spades on one side and female on the other?

You can get ready made ones, don't recall now where these came from but likely eBay or similar...

Had a quick look on ebay but couldn't see anything that is the same shape as my loom connectors but I will keep looking.

Long as it's not the crazy Active system you will be fine, mine was a mare and had to test and test again and miss match colors for my Blaupunkt head unit loom and JBL speakers using the factory black and brown factory plugs ,worth it as sounds good but no interest in doing that again.
You don't need those silly plugs ,chop them off and buy the right crimp female connectors to suit your speaker pins, the wiring is long enough @ speaker end top dash and door panels ,but applies to rear speakers also.
    Cheers.

Agree with above, cut the plugs off and put spades on, easy peasy.
