As above really, i have pair of newman cams 288-s to use with throttle bodies It might be some time before i source few bits needed so was wondering will k-jet cope with these cams?
Yes to which post B??? Mine runs fine on the 272s, but the Newman site says not for factory injection on those!
Need to warm it up for it to idle at all (at ~1100rpm) although I`ve not yet played with the throttle stop. The ISV and over-run cut off systems are redundant on mine and am considering ripping them out but need advice first. Pulls OK from low down but I`m still to run it in, not been above 5k. Is yours on solids lifters ?
I'm not sure of the full specs of the 288's but I would guess they're on the limit of what K Jet will put up with on idle. The low engine vacuum on idle can make the airflow flap bounce giving surging/rough idle etc.
i'd be very surprised if you can get them to run on Kjet, i spoke to newman direct a while ago on the very same cams and he was of the opinion that they definately would not run properly on kjet, and would'nt want to sell them to me for kjet, he suggested max 272's and that was pushing it. Sorry proberly not what you wanted to hear. Were they mr brown's old ones?? I so nearly brought them too, just did'nt want to risk it on Kjet in the end. Anyway weren't you going bike throttle bodies and megasquirt sambo??
It would probably *run* , but just not very well Considering mine's not been set up properly yet it runs quite well on the Newman 272s.
They should run with the 288`s on k-jet with the idle around 1200+. To get the best out of them either carbs or throttle bodies would be ideal.
