    Hi There everyone

I have had a huge change in my plans this winter as i was going to spend it tunning the crossflow engine but i seen a conversion on the forum in scotland so i bought it

i done the deal and booked the boat and traveled down and met dave and got everything and returned home when i got the engine back i have taken it apart and cleaned and painted some parts before i put it all together

Here are some pictures below This is the car witch i will be doing it on

With the car having TT wheels on, is it converted to mk3 5stud wide track or are you using hub converters? Just wondering if the rest of the car is set up ready for the engine just to be installed .i.e. Brakes, suspension?
Nice, clean looking car, will be watching this one.

From I was last on I have got the golf into the garage and removed the old engine to make space for the R32 engine..

So I started of by removing the lights, grill and the bumper

Then it was time to take the engine out with the crane to leave a nice wee hole for the new one

    Your Mk2 looks like new!
What is the weight of the R32 engine and how will it position in the bay? VR's always look to sit a little forward to me.

    Hi everyone

Now things are starting to move forward as the holidays are over and it time to get the new engine in and see what problems I come across.

Just thought I would show my crossflow engine out of the car as it was so neat and sounded amazing when revving
Think I will miss this little engine, as it is a very good spec crossflow, and only put a brand new TSR tall block 4-1 and 8v jetex witch will all have to be changed for the new engine.

did you ever finish the map?
What was the final result at WOT?

    Cheers

Just see that I havent put these pictures up of building and cleaning up the engine.

I striped the engine down and cleaned it all down and painted the block and buffed the entire alloy and the previous owner had sprayed the head black witch I didnt like

Then cleaned down that alternator and fitted that, starting to take shape

I have the engine all cleaned up to how I want it and ready for a test fit to golf, I know there will be lots of little things that I will need answers to but thats all with the fun on this,,, its a huge change from building British superbikes and top road racing bikes..

First change I made to the mk2 engine bay was the mk3 subframe and give it a little clean, and from my last conversation I had put all the wires down the chassis legs so this will keep the bay nice and neat.

Sure is some change from the `day job` ... how does this conversion manage the additional nose weight regarding handling & braking ?

Its diff i little different from the day job but everyone needs a hobby lol i really don't know how this will change the handling at the minute but i will cross that when i get it going, but i have thought about the brakes and have a set of 4 pot RS3 callipers coming.
