Couldn't resist any longer. Succombed and bought a 64gb WiFi model today. Apple had no stock in till July, online order also confirmed this. So popped in to PC World in Shirley and they had just had their deliveries. Just typed this post on it. Would have been so much more painful doing it on the iPhone. Which the new versions will also be out next week. Shall be upgrading to that too! Anybody else got one yet?
You`ll be so disappointed when they bring out a new version in about 6 months with all the features that the current one should have... Typical Apple drip-feed, because they know the fan-boys will buy in regardless. Even the two die-hards at work (and they both have just about every Apple product from the last few years...) are steering clear until the new version, which will actually be useful, arrives.
Stu. Yep, was going to hold fire till next March, but resale value will always remain high. Besides, this does everything it needs to do. iPhone will be good for everything else. It was either this or buy another MacBook as Gem and I are always fighting over it. Sam, Gemma and i sold our iPhone 3G's (not 3GS) about 3 weeks ago while O2 were still giving 184 per phone. We will both be upgrading to the new iPhone when it's released (announced Monday). It will either be the 11th or 18th I think. Don't think Apple will wait till 25th as that's 3 weeks after WWDC 2010, and all previous iPhones have been released within 2 weeks.
Lmao Stu. Its more portable than carrying the MBP that's for sure. It'll fit in the wifes handbag. The iPhone is for taking anywhere. Hence why I didn't go for the 3G version. Although will look into an unlocked MiFi and a cheapy payg 3G sim at some stage if I need to.

So, you had the option of using at least three different devices for doing the same thing from the same place then ??? ... no thanks
I`ve got TV Catch-up on my iPhone. The screens too small though, you say?... Not when hooked up via Bluetooth to a laptop. Went down a storm at work when the Kahn fight was on.
Your using tv catchup on the iPhone and sending the picture to your laptop? Or your using the iPhone as a modem and dialing up from the laptop?

I see you like Steve Jobs as much as I do...When are people going to realise hes trying to run the world and control what we see online You may laugh, but if you look into it, its true.
Yeah, Bluetooth tethered as a modem. Odd thing though was, when I tried the `normal` TVcatchup version it wouldn`t play. Went to Iphone version, and it played spot on...
I do, if I work away it comes with me, I dont have it on site but I dont have my posh phone on site either, cheapo work phone as I break stuff. But it is quite a small laptop so for convenience at home its plugged into a 20" monitor and I have a wireless keyboard/touchpad, takes bout 10seconds to have it plugged into the tele for 37" cgti/redtube though
