I can't even imagine what that feeling must be like, the guy flying backwards off the cliff is mental.
I want some of that!!! Its on my list to do before I die, love it. Is it legal there? I was asking about it when I was working in Norway and was told it was illegal there but the local fuzz did kind of turn a blind eye. Love the wingsuits as well. http://vimeo.com/18150336
Don't you fancy giving it a go yourself Jon? Must still be a rush being around it, but I'd be sorely tempted to join them!
Norway illegal? they have some of the biggest cliffs going, though it might just be organised events, will ask. Its tolerated at this place in Italy. When i've finished my skydiving i'm straight on it.
How do you even go about doing this for the first time!? - Must be the most surrel feeling afterwards! Whats the tune in the background!? Wikid..
Chriiiiiiiiiist! Are these guys still able to produce adrenalin? They make it seem very matter of fact. I see a few guys don't wear helmets, I suppose if it goes wrong, a helmet is not going to do that much for you. Thinking about it, you need somewhere to mount the camera. Fantastic video.
I wondered about the adrenaline levels too. I know all folks are wired up differently, but is there any issues with overload of endorphine stimulation or long lasting health problems triggered from something like this? Chasing highs like a druggie would as it were. Bi polar, manic depression? I am sure it certainly makes you feel alive but when not carrying out these activities does the individual get depressed at all?
Very bonkers! Raising the bar on mentalists!! You lot are nutz for thinking this is a great idea! The guys going backwards, eak, how close to the cliffs are they, when they're not actually looking where they're going?? Have a word!
Having said that, this link is madder, but in a lock him up and throw away the key type way http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=232589
that's my mate Matt who got a lot of comments for going off backwards in a wingsuit. As for how close to the cliff, close a matter of feet close. here is a interview with one of the other wingsuit guys on the trip. will find out the tune.
long lasting health problems, not many people about to do a study on. people tend to hang up thier chutes before to long.
I realise that my comment could have been taken the wrong way. I am sure the folks that do that sort of thing are pretty sensible because of the risks involved and the costs of equipment and getting to all these particular locations. Was just wondering because I can't think of any other activity that would create the same level of adrenalin and high. And because of that some folk may struggle to feel satisfied with the humdrum of normal life.
