Thanks for the quick response once again........you must live on here Yep my typo. Started looking at front bracket code Looks as though they are pretty much the same bracket. Just trying to give a bit of clearance for the MC.
pretty much during the day yeah theres a bracket from a passat which pushes the engine forward but im not sure which of the above it is, iirc 'they' say its passat diesel? oem solution for mk2 + 1.8t is a shorter master cylinder as per SEAT cupra (since cupra is closest to MK2 in terms of engine bay). this mc is also fitted to the ford focus so easy to get, just use the focus remote reservoir unless you find a cupra one. see sc0rians rallye 20v build thread for specifics on this, fyi you need a spacer to mount it on mk2 servo
only if you plan to use std master cylinder as it will probably hit the engine. you coudl use ford focus/ibiza cupra master cylinder as these are shorter: http://www.clubgti.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=248164
look at these m/c this guy has sorted that out and there cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120881189355?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Just looking through part numbers on vagcat. All corrado 4 pot engines use the same brackets it seems?
there are 2 engine brackets, early kr and another one for all other models. god knows why early kr is different though! front and box same for all 4 pot, but all auto ones differ to manual
Cheers. Been offered some off a 9a. 16v rado. Only need the gearbox brackets and front. Should help others searching for g60 brackets.
hi guys, i have a 1.3 mk2 that im dropping a AGU lump in running a ko4 set up. i will be getting the CTN mk3 diesel gearbox what mounts will i need? as said i have all the standard 1.3 stuff help would be great
i have a 1.3 mk2 that im putting a AGU engine with k04 set up with qpeng downpipe what brackets and mounts will i need? i still have all the original 1.3 stuff pm me if possible thanks
All the info you need is within this thread and various others but a basic concept is any 4pot engine brackets from the same era should work, but more specific's can be found with a quick search
it depends on what subframe you use, as well as the gearbox. if you use mk3 subframe you need mk3/seat abf/tdi rear bracket. if you use mk2 subframe you need g60, corrado or passat rear bracket. gearbox bracket same for all 02a boxes in mk2/3/corrado/passat. front bracket g60, corrado, mk3/seat abf/tdi, passat etc makes no odds. the only difference is mk3 bracket has the metal pipe attachment in a different position
I have a mk2 gti subframe with 8v rear bracket (from my previous abf conversion). I have an 02a gearbox bracket and a couple of front mounts to play with. Going by the above posts do I need a g60 rear engine bracket? Also the rear mount I have is the one with the offset horizontal bolt through the centre. Ive tried mounting it both ways but neither makes the front mount anywhere near close to lining up. Does this have to be a g60 item as well? Thanks, Paul
yes you'll need a mk2 g60, corrado or passat 4 cylinder rear bracket, this will pull the front bracket to the correct position once you fit a 4 cylinder 02a front one to match. as i say mk2 or mk3 style makes no odds they're the same just with slightly different shapes and mount for the metal coolant pipe
What solid front mount should i use for my 20v ? Was gonna buy the one on ebay by pigeon co is it the G60 or vr6 one ?
