    I kept my solid 8v one on mine, as there was enough adjustment on it to make it fit :)

    My setup was -

    * Mk3 16v front bracket
    * G60 rear bracket
    * 8v solid front mount
    * Rear MK2 mount
    * Mk2 gearbox mount

    Hi Richard, when you used the rear Mk2 mount and the mk2 gearbox mount you were still runing the original gearbox right?
    The original mk2 brackets cannot be used on the 02a/02j gearbox is what I read, the parts look also very different in etka.

    The gearbox-to-mount bracket is different, yes, but you still use the Mk2 resilient rubber mount attached to the subframe.

    Nope, this is with my current setup using a 02a gearbox.

    As stu said above, by mount I mean the rubber "mounts" attached to the subframe. ;)

    And yes, the original "brackets" can't be used.

    I am now buying corrado brackets to put on my AGU engine with 02J gearbox. This info was found in another thread overhere.
    http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?237857-Mk2-1-8T-Engine-Brackets

    In the Golf I allready have put G60 engine rubbers because I was building it with a tuned 16v KR engine.
    This I have sold now and bought me a nice Skoda Octavia 20vT donor vehicle.

    the front mount you buy depends on the front engine carrier, if mk2 then you use a mk2 mount, if toldeo or corrado vr6 then you use a mk3 one. the front mounts are totally different shape cant mix n match there

    Ok, I have the original mk2 brackets available too. I'll be using the standard mk2 subframe, maybe upgrade the front rubber to a solid version so i don't get in trouble when i order the trackslag 3" downpipe.

    You could try it on the old 16v rear bracket as some have had success with them, but the front deffo 100% have to be 02a type from g60, rado etc and gerarbox from any 02a so all rado, mk3, seat etc with 02a box including vr6

    if you use a stubby master cylinder the 16v rear bracket should be fine for clearance.

    yes, there are a couple other numbers that work too since there were a couple revisions of the various brackets.

    but basically front needs to be golf g60 or 4 cylinder corrado and most passat b3/4. gearbox any 02a so g60, mk3, corrado, passat b3/4 or seat manual 4 or 6 cylinder. rear bracket try your old one, if it wont line up right get a 4 cylinder corrado or mk2 g60 one same as the front

    Rear engine bracket has nothing to do with the 02j box so can be used. The other two brackets bolt to the gear box so you need 02a items.

    the rear brackets are always different for cars with cable shift gearboxes, so you my find te 020 bracket doesnt line up with the front mount. some have had problems, some have found they have enough 'wiggle room' so give it a go before you spend money basically
