Very nice ! The american F3 cars use a crossflow 8V - check out website from bertils engines http://www.bertilsengines.com/products/engines.html Cheers Rob
not the nicest of 8v cylinder heads in isolation from your conversion, but its impressive in as far as the bespoke engineering thats required, and the fact its a total knee in the groin for the normal induction/exhaust layout.
Looks good Will... exactly the sort of route I would have taken with the 8v had Matts car not been available.... What T/B & management setup are you going for?? Im sure Graham at TSR built a 2L x-flow on bodies with a 304 Schrick & it was close on 190-200BHP Also what work are you doing on the bottom end...lightening/balancing/ knife edged crank etc?? Would seem fairly necessary given that the cam will dictate it will be a high revving unit..
You would need to ditch the K-Jet for starters... You could run Throttle bodies & aftermarket management, or use the dizzy & twin 45s.... A rebuilt 2L bottom end will be required for decent power & more importantly reliability..
thats the sort of figures i'm hoping for but we will see.... going for combo of Jenvey and DTA or MBE, the bottom end has just been rebuilt, i've completed just over 1000miles now, its had the crank/rods/fly all lightened and balanced, new KS bearings, rings, and arp rod bolts amongst other bits and pieces! why not? i've only ever seen 1 other built similar to how mine will be and like chrismc said, that made very impressive figures Edited by: oakgreen88
