its funny how the people who sell fuel pumps and high pressure braided fuel hose for racing applications (rallying, single seats etc.) actually recommended using jubilee clips and even supply annodised ends for said application with jubilee clips inside them isn't it? like i said, i was told that a jubilee clip is good for 11 bar (so long as the pipe and the connector are too).
so what would the jubille clip cynics recommend instead, for attaching high pressure hose to push fit banjo's?
Dunno, but Aeroquip do "push-fit" hose and connectors that need no clips - good to 260 PSI toohttp://www.thinkauto.com/
Pirtek are normally good for advice about that sort of thing (it's their business!), they may also stock the valve you need. IMO if you're playing under there and you have a metal fuel tank and/or filler neck, you may as well invest in an Audi 80 fuel pump pre-filter while you're there, only 5 or so.
thanks for the advice on the pre-pump filter mark. as for the fittings, i've just had good look at the think auto site and i'm pretty sure that the connectors i have and the hose i'm using is exactly what they are talking about; my push fit connectors all have "fir tree type fitting" and the hoses have an internal textile weave. i didn't think FSE would have sold me anything other than what was required . from my reading of that site, i shouldn't need jubilee clips at all, but i think that would be pushing it somewhat! notice that they say to use a "Pro Clamp " fitting on top of the braided hose to stop fraying; my annodised ends appear to be identical to these. sound like i do have the right thing, wit the important factors being the "fir tree type fitting" and the textile weave inside the hose.
is this the filter you mean? etka pic its on an audi 80 with a carb, but i guess because this is the no pressurised side of the pump that doesn't matter?
I don't think so, the one i fitted was about 3" long by 2" round, and translucent which is useful too. Someone more familiure should be able to give you the actual pt no. You'll need some extra fuel pipe to make a loop to make it fit between the tank and pump too. Some cable ties to fix it under there as well, you don't want any loops of fuel pipe flapping about under there! EDIT: reply to GTI, not Golden^, see below, too slow as usual! Edited by: mark25
okay, got one ordered. 4! not sure exactly where it'll physically fit, but i'm sure i'll find a space somewhere! Edited by: GTI
