I need to replace the alternator on my '85 mk2. Been offered a nearly new one for 20 but just need to know whether it's the right one. GSF website lists a number of different models. The one on at the moment is a Bosch, but the rest of the label has worn off. The one I've been offered is also a bosch, 55amp, off a G reg mk2 8v. Will this be OK? I noticed that most of the units listed on GSF are 65amp. Help! Need to change it this weekend so any info asap would be great.
