I found all I can find, including all the drawings. But/so, does anyone know what gears he used for the 6th gear? where they even vw items? I have a 5.07:1 gemini final drive here Im itching to fit along with a quaife lsd, but Im worried about 'cruising' rpm....not that I do ANY motorway miles really, but still, I wouldnt like to be able to actually see the fuel gauge going down when driving.

Or should I just fit anyway to rid my itch, and forget about 6th gear. (I do think it would be pretty handy as jobs go all the same..)

0.75 overdrive ratio. Could it be from a 4+E box?

Unless you're talking about the close ratio kits which are different again.

Must look into that ratio. Just need something a little tame to ease cruise.

As Chris said, when I repaired Neal's 6spd Gemini 'add on' I used what they did, a 0.75 from a 4+e and modified it to suit.
It's quite easy to do, just the housing to sort out, everything else just envolves a bit of machining.

Nice one. I guess the longer end cap could be cast pretty easy

Here's a kit for some idea:

There are still about 10-20 end caps unused, now with our ex-Gemini 02A/J gearkit GB man. One gear needs drilling to attach 6th - you can see the upper centre gear is drilled 3 times.

Pic watermarked before someone decides it's theirs as has happened before - I took it.

Have you got a pukka motorsport gear kit Brian?
With a 5:1 FD you will be just about able to take off in 3rd if it is 1.44:1 gti ratio. :o

I could start in 2nd (2.12:1) with my 4.25 FD.

I got a stack of 020 gears with some odd ratios and tonnes of other bits if you are looking to make up a gear set.

    I've made an enquiry

Casings need an alloy weld for the selector travel mind.

Well I have a gemini fd, new, Id imagine it would be super for driving up mountains, pulling trailers, aeroplanes, etc:lol:

I scored it for 100euro ish on ebay, non geminis go for 699 dollars. Nice paper weight even if I have to pull it again!

Not any tall 1st gears unfortunately. I got a 1.06 3rd and a 0.70 4th though. :o Feck, they are rarer than VWMS stuff. Probably more suited to going for a land speed record.
But with a 5:1 diff you never know.

Speaking of land speed records, anyone got a 3.32:1 final drive set knocking about?;)

Presumably VWMS for 24mm 020 boxes - - am aware 3rd 4th and 5th of my 2Y can be changed but would prefer to swap final drive only[:p

Unless an economical 6 sp conversion is reincarnate - - [:D]
