Been probably 20 years since I last fitted an 020 so bear with me!.

I've searched high and low for correct pushrod direction.

I have landed in "pointy" end towards the clutch release plate and fitted it that way, is this correct?.

To make it simple I'd say there's a pointy and a blunt end, rather than explaining it any other way.

The only thing that makes me 2nd guess is the "pointy" end is a very good fit into the release bearing.

    Cheers all.

Mine is blunt end at release bearing and pointed end at clutch plate.

Did buy a 'new' one from VWHeritage and it turned out to be Topran.

Also turned out to be off true and went back to the original 75K one which although it looked worn was still the correct length.

There's pics somewhere in the later pages of my 'Isaac' thread if you want to compare.

Thanks @Zender Z20, I have an original OEM pushrod but it looked worn on the end, will have to measure it.

Topran is the one I've just fitted, it "looked" straight but I may have to double check that!.

Topran rolled in stages across a known flat surface, the original ran freely.
