   got an 020 box off a 91 1.6 for free! can i fit it to an 89 gti? the only thing i can see different is the driveshaft flanges (90 mm instead of 100mm) ive got the drive shafts too but ide rather not fitt em as vw obviously thought to beef em up for the gti,s! im sure you couldswapthe flanges over or am i talking b*ll*cks?

   It will bolt on but the ratios will be all wrong. To fit you need to swap the GTI flanges onto the box, and I think you'll need a different pressure plate as the input shaft is smaller on the 1.6 box?
