the starter motor has started making this horrible noise ater the engine catches and ignites, as if it isnt switching off when the engine starts. it only used to do it now and again but it makes the noise everytime i start the car now. is there a way to fix this or do i need to save up for a recon starter???
    cheers

Stands a chance that the solenoid is on its way out. Its engaging with the flywheel but not disengaging quick enough.

    Hi
Ya. Get the starter out and give the shaft and gear a good dose of wd40. In fact, pull the gear by hand and spray some wd40 behind the bearing. Also, test it with a 12v battery BEFORE fitting it back in.
