I was using my boss's 2006 A4 with 90k on clock. When she gave me the keys she said 'if oil light comes on, just top it up' whaaaat?!?' I replied as I sort her services out she was told by audi that her car is ok to use a gallon of oil fairly often (between services). Is this normal? She does 35k a year.

Audis STOP using oil when they reach 100 000 miles. Mate's dad has one and that reached 100k with a healthy thirst for oil. When he reached the 100k mark it stopped drinking.

the VW statement in the hand book is a upto liter per 1000 km!!

some 2 liters tdi's burn loads, others don't - most seem to need 1L per 10K miles !!
