084 box out of a mk1 1.1

084 box out of a mk1 1.1. Just done 45k....Would this box fit straight into a mk2 1.3 1989? (4 speed)

I need to know asap please!!

No. The gearbox mount is different. The 084 probably has the three studs comming out of the top type mount.

You'de probably need to get a custom mount made.

But if its the polo style two horizontal bolt type then it should fit.

 

It will fit if your 1.3 mk2 is a 4 speeder. Other than that you can get
the mounts from a 4 speeder in most breakers for pennies.

 

Mine is a 4 speeder. But if the mounts are different then surely I dont want to fanny about customising that, or getting a different one?

 

if yours is a 4 speeder it'll just drop in, no worries! Infact I remember
I fitted a 5 speeder with the 4 speed mounts and its still working
(just... bearings though [:^(] )

 

084 gearbox is a four speed and mounts with three studs into
the mounting arm

085 gearbox is a five speed and fits with two bolts throught the
mounting arm similar to an 020 transmission

use a mount out of a 4 speed 1.3 mk2
