and for it to have made 121bhp and 126lb/ft it would have had to make that peak torque below 5252rpm. So either the car was running nitrous, or crazy octane fuel to run amazing compression, or the dyno operators crack pipe fumes were affecting the readings.
from the million lines on the graph - the only thing that would give anywhere near those figures is if there is a nitrous kit with a +25bhp shot being triggered at about 3250rpm that could give the headline figures you quoted - peak torque @ 4375 ish rpm
now that is assuming that the higher/left most of the two purple lines is the torque curve, the lighter green line the power curve, the lower/right of the purple lines could be a power curve on a non-nitrous run (90bhp max) the dark green and red lines look like drag lines (for calculating atf and atw) the blue line could be all sorts - coolant temp in C on the torque scale, inlet air temp in F on the bhp scale, or even just crack pipe flow rate. OR, it could be a 1.3 as in a rotary.
nope that graph deffo says if you look at the icons: red = power @ wheels which is 60bhp dark green = flywheel power which is 90bhp light blue = torque which is 70 flbs so not 121bhp and 126lbft unless the other 3 colours are another run super imposed over another but that isn't mentioned & wouldn't make sense?
I agree with mike, thats what I pointed out- thats it says 60bhp from the red dotted line which is marked as power in the key. who knows what the light green line at the top is. but its not wheel BHP.
Nope, it's calculated flywheel power with the nitrous oxide, surely? Seems like the nitrous really kicks in about 3k.
for that blue line to be torque (without nitrous) the engine would have to be in a pretty reasonable state to be able to provide 70lbft/litre all the way from 2k-5k rpm...
Idont understand why the graph has 6 lines & only 3 have icons explaining what they are? unless there is more info further down the page?
One run without NOS (90bhp), one run with NOS (121bhp). The top green line is his calculated power @ Fly with NOS and the purple lines are his wheel and torque figures. Its from the Club Polo Rolling Road day held a week or two ago.
I was there on the club G40 rolling road day (hence my sig!) This GT makes 90 flywheel bhp with minimal mods> 4 branch manifold, Mk2 golf gti airflow meter and ported throttle body. Edited by: LregG
oh dear... maybe i should explain things abit better. The graph shows two runs, one with nitrous one without. without nitrous it made 90bhp (60 at the wheels) AND 93LB/FT (check the flat curve ) nitrous was injected at 2.8k ish, this gave 121bhp and 125lb/ft if i remember the digital readout correctly.
