I'm planing to build KR block with 77,4 crank (1,6 16v). At the moment I'm interested in correct crank donor for my project. Which VAG engines got that 77,4 crank (that will fit KR) and maybe there are some differences. Any advice appreciated.
I think that the engine that you will be interested in is the EZ engine code as fitted to all of the 1.6 big block mk2's. The 1.6/1.8 8v/16v is all based on the same short block. I dont know about bearing sizes or if the con rods will fit the pistons but it would be very cheep to get a 1.6 engine from the scrappy. Or you could try checking ETKA / Haynes to find out information from there.
