Is it worth getting a K&N panel filter for a 1.6 mk2 golf driver?

What differences will there b if any?

    Cheers

NOt really many benefits other than a bit better air flow, and the fact you can clean the filter.

Dont expect power increases cos there simply wont be any.

Virtually pointless on all cars actually. Stock airfilter is finely balanced and only seriously tuned cars benefit.

In fact, by changing the air flow into the cars, these filters can actually reduce power.

lol! I very much doubt a replacement paper filter for 2 is a finely balanced piece of equipment!!

I fitted one, cant say i noticed much difference, you wont get any noise increase from a apnel filter, but i didnt see it as a waste of money as it is cleanable, and my air box sometimes gets a bit of oil in it which screws paper filters.

Dont confuse cost with complexity. Just because something is cheap to manufacture doesn't mean it hasn't been thoroughly designed, tested and built for the task.

    Cheers,

I fitted a k&n panel filter to my golf driver about 3 weeks ago. Cant really say its made any difference to the power, but it does feel smoother in 3rd and 4th gears. IMO good for the 25 I paid for it.
