Just wanting to pick you guys brains really. I have a 1.6 driver on a J plate and am going to be swapping it for a 2.1 8v running digi and a k-star. I have the complete engine and loom back to the fusebox. Also have the radiator/fan etc. These came out of a G plate gti I used to own. I'm just wondering if anyone could give me a list off the top of their heads as to what other parts etc I would need to complete the swap?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers

    do you have the engine?

Fuel pump and fuel lines and probabaly a gti fuel tank.

i would use at least a std gti exhaust manifold

other than that i cant really see that you will need much more than what you have already.

Cheers for that. That's what I was hoping. The motor is built up completely, so I need to go ratching for a fuel pump, lines and tank. Nice:thumbup:

I thought K-star was just for use with Kjet...

Does it work with digifant management?

Yeah it does mate. Its plumbed in alongside the digi ecu. Ran it for about a year before I pulled the motor out of my old mk2. Don't really know much about the k-star box of tricks mind

This might be a stupid question but I'm assuming the mounts on the driver motor and 2.1 8v are the same?

    Cheers

mounts will almost definitely be the same, also you shouldn't need a fuel tank, just the in-tank pump which you just swap with the fuel level sensor thats already there. Some people say you need to drop the tank to feed the fuel lines but i didn't have to.
(i went from 1.8 driver to k-jet 16v and the k-jet and digi in-tank lift pump is the same so you shouldn't need to either)

    Good stuff. Cheers mate

I'm not sure if it has one tbh. Its a bit of a handfull at times  The full spec of the motor and box is in an old vw mag feature when the motor was in a different shell (long before I owned it). I will have to ratch it out or see if I can find a back issue.
