I went away for a year so it stood in the garage until i got back then i got it through an mot looking like this...

It failed on a few things not to major couple of bulbs and play in the top mount. So i got some new coilovers and top mounts and took her back for a retest..

Passed this time so i didn't fancy driving about with it all sorts of paint on it..Got the spray gun out the back of work and spayed it silver with some old paint i had didn't look as bad for a hour job..

Put my bro's gottis on it see what it looked like as his car was off the road didn't let me av them....

Drove her around like this for a few months until the summer came and the weather warmed up then striped it and painted it up my self.... Did a better job this time..

Let the paint dry for a few days then riped the old dash out and put a new one in from my mates old driver

Out with the old in with the new..

Sprayed up a few things black make it look fresher does wonders.

Slowly but surely it takes half hour to strip and about 2 weeks to put back together..

Made up some door cards out of fiberglass and polished them up did them in black...

While i was there made some new small bumpers out of a mould i have which is handy. Sprayed them black gloss and did the end caps mat black tidy...

Put it all on and it looks good not quite finished got some recaros to go in this week and sort some other stuff out never ends...

I did that, but nothing changed at first...

Did it all again, and it`s fine now... [:s]

And, yes, a very nice car indeed.

Looks great. Fantastic home build. I remember my first GTI, it was a 1.6 Mk1 too. NHR 188X was its registration. Cant believe that was 9 years ago.

Any more plans for this one?

Nice one guy's not to good on the old computer...

As for the car i have put a 4 to 1 and a jetex system it came with a k+n panel filter not the best on mpg but so much fun to drive...

The plan is a bigger engine at some point don't know what to do tho g60 or the 20v turbo???? Or put an 1.8 16v in her... What do you think??

Number plate does look sh*!T where it is..I would not have one if i could..... Moving it asap if the rain ever stops...
Got some p slots to polish up see how they look, 15s a tad big...
