Does anyone have or know where I can get both the upper and lower timing belt covers for a 1.8 16V KR? I'm halfway through a full restoration on my 16V and one part I'm desperately in need of is the timing belt covers as the belt has chewed through mine making them completely useless. Part numbers are 027109123B and 027109175A.

Willing to pay a good bit for them as I need them badly. Any help is much appreciated.

Tough to find (as you know). I think the 2.0 16v from a Corrado will fit as that is what I have on mine. Ive got my old one and will send a photo to see if its better than your present one.

That would be great, thank you. Is the 9A part a different part number?

Still pretty beaten up. How much would you want for it? Better to have a slightly scruffy one than none at all I think!

Maybe the steel cover is stronger and more readily available. Maybe can’t fit to 16v??
I’ve since primed and sprayed satin black
    Looks clean and solid
    Just a suggestion

They are much much better but dont think they fit. The 16v ones are designed to distort with heat, snap when the mechanic even looks at them or get eaten by the cambelt.

8v covers wont fit as the 16v sprockets and belt are wider

    Thanks for the help guys.
Next question, has anyone got the correct V Belt pulleys for the water pump with power steering for a 16V?
    Part numbers 027 121 031 and 027 121 031A I believe.

Also, potentially a stupid question, but how do I send a PM?

depends on the age of your 16v, most have a double slipper pulley setup but very late swapped to more usual solid pulley similar to 8v setup. to pm click users name, then 'start a conversation'

Mine's an '87, fairly sure it should have double pulleys on the waterpump.

The option to PM doesn't show for me, possibly haven't been a member long enough or something?

ah yes, iirc 10 posts to become full member.

you need 027121028 and 027121031A for the early setup with slipper pulley.

the slipper pulley can be tricky to get, but upgrading to the late setup isn't so easy either unless you find a donor as you need a load of parts to complete:
051105255 - late crank PAS pulley
027121031 - late pas waterpump pulley (same as 16v non-pas pulley)
051145255 - late pas pump pulley
    050903137 - alt belt, 9.5x950
    027903137 - late pas belt, 9.5x630

Ok so for power steering I need two pulleys on the waterpump, is one of them the same as the non PAS pulley or are they both different?

for the late spec 16v there is just one waterpump pulley 027121031 which is the same for manual and pas 16v, its the same one used on early non-pas 16v as well.

but for early 16v with pas the slipper pulley 027121028 is specific to pas 16v (and 8v with aircon, but good luck finding one of those here ) the solid pulley 027121031A is the same as ps mk2 8v so not too hard to find

    edit: reworded for clarity

Ok great thank you. So I need to get both water pump pulleys and a different crank pulley to convert non Pas to Pas? Already have the pas pump setup.

if you dont have pas at all yes you need those 2 waterpump pulleys, plus add a pas v-belt pulley to the crank 026105255D (same part number as 8v pas pulley)
