I thinking about buying a G plate Corrado 1.8 16v, the guy is looking for 1500. What should I look for for when I go see it? It's got 115000 miles on it... Cheers
i think andy947 is gay! seriously tho, I am not sure. Is it in good nick? seee what the previous owner is like.....cos when cars are that old its all about maintenance...you know what they say about VAG cars and mileage! seems a good price but its one of the first corrados i guess Edited by: CabrioRags
Make sure the electric roof is working + rear spoiler goes up and down and door mirrors work. Common faults Craked fog lamps as well as they are quite exspensive to replace.
Yeah, I was the co-pilot when i died, RIP, and it is still sat on my driveway, Andy get it shifted! I'm, told the exterior is in really good nick, and all electrics work. The gearbox was replaced not so long ago, as were the tires and brake pads. I'm just looking for a run about for the summerd and I don't mind getting my hands dirtty from time to time. Any major things i should be looking for?
can't believe it's still there!!! i was up at yours that day the guy drove for bout 7 hrs from england to pick the car up and andy goes "nah, i'm keeping it". guy wasn't amused
Yeah, insurance have been told TWICE to shift it Anyway: Anything specific to the 16v engine?? obviously any death rattles or smokin on startup etc Whats the signs of ISV failure or problems, just incase??
Ask when the cambelt was last changed. Look for service history. Head valve stem seals may need changed. What colour? Thats how much I got mine for but the bodies a bit tattie.
Its red, and got a set of 17's on it. Body looked sound last time i saw it, seems to me like a good buy at that money, jus wonderin about specific corrado points to look at. Where's common rust areas on the 'raddo - similar to the MK2?
all i know about 'rados is that the body panels cost a fortune apparantly...so make sure the body is good.
My good lady got her hands on a standard G reg 1.8 16v corrado with leather interior for 1500 quid, with 109,000 on the clock. Needs a good tune and rust spots on arches cleaning up, but other than that it appears to be sound as a pound. Mind you that was a bargain, I'd snatch his hand of if no blue smoke is coming out of the zause for that money.
