Hi all newbie here. Having a problem with my 1.8t mk4 golf. I have had a look through previous topics, they sound similar to my problems, but not 100%, not sure if what i am experiencing is a result of that.
basically my climatroic heating works fine.. when idle. As soon as i start driving i get a loud fan noise, sounds horrible. a friend of mine came round and we notice that a pulley stops moving when acceleration occurs. is this because of an electrical fault inside or is the pulley faulty or whole block?
    any help would be appreciated

which pulley is it? certain alternator have a built in freewheel/clutch thingy on the pulley which are a common fault. you'll see loads of replacement pulleys on ebay :)
