Plenum plate is about 90% done. Just need to drill it and give it an O ring seal. Then I get to decide to build the rest of the plenum from aluminum or carbon fiber.

And cut some out of the back side to shed some weight

Well I finished it up by adding the bolt holes and o ring slot. Now all thats left is to weld it to the runners.

went ahead and made the plenum flange. This one is for a sheetmetal plenum. I havent 100% decided on carbon fiber for the plenum yet, but If i do Ill make another flange to suit it.

    This is all too beautiful.

I don't think I'll come back in this thread again, it'll just make me cry!

I thought this had sadly gone the way of many threads and was going to be another half finished project.

Really pleased to see it`s still continuing and you are updating it

Lovely work, please keep the updates coming :)

Well it's slow because I'm currently building my house and shop (by hand) working 60 to 80 hours a week and taking on side jobs. I'm also building a few motorcycles and have a 2 year old daughter.

    Life is busy.

It wasn`t a criticism of your speed of progress ! , more of an observation than many interesting threads just wither and stop getting updated. If this takes years, that isn`t the issue, it`s just great to see it`s still continuing at all

All of those with partners / children fully understand you can`t live in the garage or in front of the keyboard ! lol

    Nice work !
On the Dual Plenum im not sure its the way to go, its used to get even filling over the cylinders while the turbo is inlet restricted like in WRC and RX engines, this at the cost of airflow. With a free breathing turbo think you get better results with a good design single plenum.

No criticism meant or taken. I just have 1000 things going on at once so I never stay on one project very long.

I agree with you. My plenum really won't be like a standard wrc dual plenum. I just don't know what to call it. Basically it will be a bottom feed. The round throttle body will transition to an oval then a slot. All smooth transitions with no inner edges or ledges. It's actually very hard to explain over my phone. I may do some drawings to help explain.

Thanks for the intrest guys. I like building things differently.

I tried to CFD some slot feed type plenums with lower and both lower\upper feeds. Very difficult to get even flow. Look forward to progress.

Here is the design idea for the plenum. Note this isn't to scale, just a quick sketch to convey my design idea.

The goal is smooth non turbulent flow and more equal distribution than your regular side feed manifold.

    Opinions?
