I'm going to ditch the power steering on my Mk2 with 1.8T conversion. Question is, once the power steering pump is removed, I obviously need a shorter alternator belt, but which one from which car? I'm guessing a Mk3 Golf or B4 Passat multi-ribbed belt, but which Mk3/B4?

    Cheers

basically, you can order whatever you like

go down eurocarparts, ask for 6pk****.

**** is the length of the belt you require in MM

I need to know what length of belt I need though to do that. Is there a standard belt that will fit straight on?

    Yes...

...I am pretty sure that the white box on the left was the belt I ordered from VAG and was spot on for my AGU 1.8t, deleting the AC & PS

I *think* this may be the part number for the VAG belt.

I threw the box away and can not find the invoice from VAG, but I have found a bit of scrap paper that has my shopping list of car bits on it...

This may be it - 038903137G

Is that a VAG part no. [:s]

Aye, atm, big guns seems like an easier option!

Major ballache fitting PS on my car as I have the Autocavan pedal box otherwise I would have just gone for Corsa electric PS.

Thinking about selling it, going floor mounted pedal box + remote servo + corsa PS setup...

...like I say, might be easier getting down the gym!
