    Heres the story:

I changed the red and yellow wires over to sort out a memory problem and it worked (mk3 golf BTW), but ever since, every time I turn the key the stereo goes off and sometimes does not come back on until I turn the ignition back off and on etc!

Even with the stereo on and the key in the ignition, just a small turn of the key to the left turns the fatherless child off!

It's really doing my head in now cos it was working fine until I swapped the wires over (even changing the wires back doesn't sort it).

    Any ideas would be appreciated!!!!!!

The ignition switch could be knackered (mine is) try pushing the key in
and see if the stereo comes on. If that works, its time to get a new
    one.[8(]

Yes, I think its the ignition switch - pushing the key in does turn the stereo off/on! Bugger!

Anyone have one for sale by any chance? Are they easy to change?

This ignition switch business - what if I connect the stereo power and memory lead to the 12V only i.e. disconnect the ignition live - would that solve it?

Also, if the ignition switch is faulty, wouldn't I notice some other side effects, cos the stereoseems to be theonly thing affected.
