16v airbox mods

    hi

    i have a 16v gti mk2,someone told me i should modify my airbox for induction roar,now ive been told to be carefull where i cut and drill etc.Can anyone help with information and pictures if poss of how and best to do it please!its ann 88 valver with the smaller airbox

    Your airbox should have a panel on the wing side that just unclips and leaves a dirty gurt hole for some wicked growling! ;)

    I normally chop out a large rectangle from the wing side of the air box with an angle grinder, no seriously! Obviously after removal of the air box.

    Yep pannel and snorkel was removed on mine too, loud enough :lol:

    without the snorkel won't it suck to much hot air?

    Unless you have got a really highly tuned engine and are going for ultimate bhp, it ain't going to make that much difference, it isn't a turbo car.

    And once you're rolling you'll be getting pretty much ambient temps in that location anyway.
