16v engine swap

    ive put a 1989 kr16v engine,loom & ALL ancillaries in a 1990 golf.she runs sweet,perfect in fact!but as soon as you turn the key & fire her up the oil & temp warning lites come on,then the buzzer comes on! i had the engine in my old car so i know it works fine hence electrical because i think i may of put a connector in the wrong place,trouble is i dont which one or where!i dont wana ruin my luverly dub!!!!!any help greatly appreciated [:^(]

    The oil pressure connections are on top of the oil filter housing.

    You've probably just missed out one of those.

    all connectors are attatched to something!ive got no left over wires or places to put them!thanx any way

    If you put the two on top of filter housing the wrong way round it will do the buzzer light thing also

    which color wire goes where then just so i can eliminate the problem? thanx

    ive just been out to look & ive put the yellow wire closest to the block & the blue/black wire closest to the fan housing

    have you still got the 1.3 clocks in it m8?

    no ive got 18 16v clocks along with evreythin else off the valver ;)

    It doesnt matter which wire goes at front or back as it is more to do with what pressure switch it goes into as you can put the switches in either front to back or vice versa.

    they were the wrong way round!but if you swap them with the engine running the lites & buzzer wont go off! cheers viw2227,if you hadnt of said i wouldnt of looked! the temp/h2o lite was on coz the expansion tank connector wasnt on properly!!!!!!!!!!! :lol: :clap:
