Looking @ the sheetmetal bellhousing plate and thinking I will need to line it up with the alloy lower engine yoke due it being around .75mm thick ,obviously the gearbox bellhousing will be flat ?.
    Thanks.

yeah I would say so, though the difference is so small m,ay not be an issue. but if for no other reason it seals all the gaps to the bellhousing I woudl say fit it.

why do you ask, have you put the flywheel/clutch on already and forgot the plate? If so can do what I did which was cut the bottom of the plate so it would slip over the crank, once the gearbox is on it cant go anywhere. Usually I would have taken the clutch off and fitted properly but guy wanted car on road and didnt have a spare set of stretch bolts

I've done what John mentions above a couple times, I always forget the tin cover before flywheel and clutch!

Cut a slit in the bottom and slip it on, makes no difference once the bellhousing is bolted up as it can't move anywhere anyway.

Thanks John,I removed the lower engine yoke to clean the sump of crud properly and make sure the sump bolts were tight.
ABF had leaking rocker cover gasket and well as a leak @ the block breather hose so has taken a bit to clean up ,no point in putting a dirty engine in the car.
