Im sure this has been addressed before, but here we go.
Is it possible to fit 7.5 X 17 rims to a MK3 GTI??

If so, what tyres do I use etc,

    Thanks [xx(] [xx(]

Yes, 205/40/17, and there's plenty of other posts about it, just use the [IMG] search function!

I have 7.5x17" wheels on my Mk 3 lowered 40mm. You need 205/40/17 tyres :)

If you order wheels from a reputable company they should supply the correct size and offset etc.

Mine's an N reg and it's ET35. Can't see it being much different on an L reg to be honest.

Thanks. Just phoned up R-Tec for price on ACE 112's, the guy said 620 for 17"s on 205 rubber but he recommends the wheels with Falken rubber for 707 that he had on his VR as the ride is better.

Is this just a marketing ploy to get suckers to spend more money, i'd prefer to get away with the budget tyres but has anyone got good things to say about Falkens which justify spending more money?

Budget ones are okay, if you aren't doing anything serious with them. He's having a laugh telling you about ride quality though, unless they were 215's which i doubt.
